Apple’s newest release, iOS 15, brings a new feature called SharePlay. With this feature, you can share your screen with another person during FaceTime. Although Apple delayed its release, SharePlay is a feature that’s been requested for years. Sharing your screen with other people can be useful for tech support, puzzles, or games. In this article, we’ll go over how to share your screen with others.
SharePlay
If you’re looking for a simple way to cast your media to Apple TV, SharePlay on FaceTime on iOS 15 may be the perfect solution. The app requires FaceTime on Apple devices and is compatible with iOS 15.1 or later (or MacOS Monterey 12.1 for iOS 14). SharePlay enables you to watch the same live stream as the person on the other end of the FaceTime call. You can even continue to use FaceTime while your phone calls are on!
To share content, tap on the ‘SharePlay’ button at the bottom right of the screen. Once you’re in SharePlay, the video or audio is synchronized with the other person’s. The audio is dropped when someone starts talking. SharePlay also lets anyone in the call control playback. You can even control the volume for individual users. The best part? It’s free! Unlike other face-to-face calling software, it’s compatible with iOS 15 and higher.
FaceTime
If you want to share your screen with a friend during a FaceTime call, you must be on iOS 15 or higher. To share your screen with your friend, open FaceTime and tap the SharePlay button at the top-right corner of the screen. You should see a purple share icon at the top of the screen. Swipe away from the active caller’s face and then tap the screen share icon.
To share your screen with another person, open the app in which you’re communicating. Go to FaceTime and click the Share button. Now, you can choose to share just one window, or your entire screen. Once you’ve finished sharing, you can either end the FaceTime call or cancel the screen sharing session. This is an extremely helpful feature, especially if you’re trying to share your screen with a friend.
Apple TV
To share your screen on FaceTime, you must have an iOS device running version 15.1 or higher, and an Apple TV. Tap the Share Content or Screen button on your phone. Once the sharing session is started, you can choose which part of your screen you want to share, or show the whole screen. To end a screen sharing session, simply click FaceTime or click Stop Sharing.
Using FaceTime to share your screen requires a compatible iOS device running iOS 15.1 or higher. If you don’t have an iOS device running 15.1 or higher, download Zoom for Mac or PC. It will let you share everything from vacation photos to apartment listings. With this feature, you can share your screen with others from anywhere in the world. And if you’re on FaceTime, it’s just as simple to share your screen on other iOS devices and PCs.
Sharing content with others
If you’ve been waiting to share content with others, iOS 15 brings the ability to screen share on FaceTime. With the new release, FaceTime users can share content on their iPhones and iPads, including videos, photos, and music. If you don’t want to share content directly from your iPhone, you can use Apple TV to share content. You can also share content from apps like YouTube and Disney Plus.
SharePlay is another feature that works with FaceTime. Once you’ve activated SharePlay, you can share content with others. To share content, you first need to activate it in an app compatible with FaceTime. Typically, you’ll share a video or a movie. When you’re finished sharing, simply tap on the sharing icon to return to the FaceTime control panel.
